Sign an NDA without an account
Most e-signature products make you create an account before you can sign a non-disclosure agreement — and then upload the NDA to their cloud. FreeSign does neither. Open the page, drop the PDF, verify your email with a one-time code, and download a signed PDF. The document never leaves your device.
Why “no account” matters for NDAs
An NDA is about limiting who sees the contents. Creating a vendor account often means storing your identity, the document, and a long-lived audit trail on someone else’s servers. FreeSign replaces the account with a per-ceremony email OTP: enough to bind your verified email into the certificate’s subjectAltName, not enough to build a permanent document vault under your name.
There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to cancel, and no “team workspace” that keeps a copy of the NDA after you close the tab.
What actually leaves your browser
Only a 32-byte SHA-256 of the PDF, the email used for the OTP, your typed legal name, and a cryptographic signature over a canonical consent payload. The Worker returns a CMS seal; your browser appends it to the local PDF. The PDF bytes themselves are never uploaded.
- PAdES-B-T CMS signature under a per-user X.509 leaf certificate
- RFC 3161 timestamp from DigiCert’s AATL-listed TSA
- OpenTimestamps proof for the signed-region hash
- Evidence JSON embedded inside the signed PDF
How to sign in under a minute
- Go to free-sign.com — no sign-up screen.
- Drop the NDA PDF; the browser hashes it locally.
- Enter email + legal name, accept consent, enter the OTP.
- Download the signed PDF. Optionally keep the
.otsproof.

Privacy differentiator vs DocuSign / Adobe Sign
Cloud e-signature suites are excellent at routing envelopes and managing roles. They are not designed around “the vendor never holds the PDF.” If that constraint is the point of your NDA workflow — M&A, trade secrets, security research — FreeSign is the tool that matches the threat model. Compare: FreeSign vs DocuSign, FreeSign vs Adobe Sign.
FAQ
Do I need to create an account to sign an NDA?
No. FreeSign uses a one-time email code per signing ceremony. There is no account, password, or dashboard to manage.
Is the NDA uploaded to FreeSign’s servers?
No. The PDF stays in your browser. FreeSign receives a hash, identity fields for the certificate, and a signature over the consent payload — not the document bytes.
Can the other party countersign without an account either?
Yes. They drop the already-signed PDF into free-sign.com and repeat the same no-account ceremony. Both signatures remain verifiable in one file.
Is signing an NDA this way free?
Yes. The free product has no account requirement and no per-document fee for standard browser signing.
